Betsy Boone and her husband, Brendon, founded KennedyStrong Foundation in 2017 under the inspiration of their then 2-year old daughter Kennedy, who was born with a serious congenital heart defect and Down syndrome. The first 18-months of Kennedy’s life included two open heart surgeries and the introduction to early intervention services such as speech & physical therapy. After successfully overcoming Kennedy’s medical challenges, the Boone’s set their sites on preparing the world to meet the needs Kennedy will have as an adult- gainful employment and independent living.
KennedyStrong Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity driven to promote awareness, advocacy and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome.
Our mission is to create programs and services to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families as well as promoting advocacy and inclusion to help them reach their full potential
